Women's Correctional Centre - Headingley, Manitoba
The Women’s Correctional Centre opened in 2012 and its principles are to provide a safe and supportive environment that provides opportunities that empower women to live with dignity and respect. This multi-level security facility is rated to a capacity of 196 offenders.
SWS Detention Group supplied and installed all detention hollow metal doors, frames and detention hardware (400+ openings). This was a green field project and thus detention openings were required in intake areas, medical, special handling, general population housing, max-security and building perimeter. SWS was on site for the duration of the project initially standing up frames for building in and then installing both swing and sliding doors and hardware. We were also responsible for the supply and installation of all in-cell and dayroom furnishings.
After substantial completion we continue to provide both preventative maintenance and general maintenance service to all of the detention equipment in this facility.
